Shirley Healy accepted an Age-Friendly Orillia Certificate of Appreciation on behalf of the Orillia Lawn Bowling Club.
The Age-Friendly Orillia Advisory Committee had this to say: "This recognition is a testament to your organization's commitment and dedication to fostering a welcoming and inclusive community for individuals of all ages. Your nomination was successful because it met several of the eight quality of life categories established by the World Health Organization which enable older adults to benefit from an active, independent and meaningful life.
It is the collective actions of passionate groups like yours that make Orillia a better place for everyone". We are very proud of our accomplishments and it is due to work of all the volunteers at the club.

Supporting Green Haven Shelter
The Orillia Lawn Bowling Club held a charity breakfast on Wednesday August 14th at the clubhouse.
A wonderful breakfast buffet was enjoyed by all and proceeds of $910 were donated to Green Haven Shelter for Women.
All food was generously donated by local grocery stores- No Frills, Zehrs, Metro and Food Basics.
Many thanks to all the supporters of this very worthy cause.
